Maryland Softball Anticipates Season Opener Against Minnesota

The Maryland Softball squad is 1 day away from their first series of games of the season. The Terps will have a doubleheader against Minnesota downwardly south in Leesburg, Florida on Friday, February 26 starting at 4:fifteen pm ET.

Head bus Mark Montgomery is "just excited to get to play" after 50 weeks with no games. The softball team is "broken-hearted to get out on the field and play against some exterior competition," said Montgomery.

He is specially content with the pitching staff and noted that information technology has "tremendously improved." A standout actor that Montgomery mentioned was freshman Jaeda McFarland, who he believes is "special in how she plays" and almost likely volition be starting in eye field.

Taylor Wilson, a senior infielder, notes how the team is young and is existence led with a relatively new coaching staff, but as practicing progressed, "we started clicking on all cylinders." Gracie Voulgaris, a junior catcher and captain, expresses "we are itching to play."

The softball team hasn't experienced whatsoever coronavirus outbreaks at the university, but a few people had Covid-19 when they went home for breaks, according to Montgomery. In regards to the coronavirus guidelines and testing protocols, Wilson thinks "our team is good at taking care of business organisation so we can play."
